Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to form suitable magnetic layer having excellent dispersibility of magnetic powder and bondingness of base and further, excessive mechanical strength, by taking the material for the base as aromatic polyamide system resin and taking the binder for the magnetic layer as specific resin.
CONSTITUTION: On the base preferably about 3μ thick consisting of aromatic polyamide system resin, the magnetic layer is placed, which takes vinylchloride-vinyl acetate copolymer system resin, low molecular and more functional isocyanate compound of 1 to 30%, preferably 2 to 20 wt.% to the total amount, and high molecular plasticizer such as urethane elastomer of 20 to 80 wt.%, preferably 35 to 65 wt.% to the entire binder components, as the binder. Thus, even if the total thickness of magnetic recording media is thin, the mechanical strength can sufficiently be held and the recording and reproducing time can be extended.
