PURPOSE:To record many flags without providing a track for flags, by recording a digital signal in the form of blocks, and by recording flags at specific places while constituting flag blocks for the flags. CONSTITUTION:A flag uses one bit for each frame, and respective blocks (a) are recorded successively and continuously. Flags in each block are rearranged to obtain the flags of block structure. In memories 7-9, the 1st-last flag parts of one flag block are just stored. A decoder 12 decodes the contents of flags stored in the memory 9 to output a necessary signal to a necessary circuit through a flag output terminal 13.
