Abstract
PURPOSE:To correct the astigmatism and increase resolving power by forming a double-monochrometer with two monochrometers of the same structure of which scanning directions of wave length are perpendicular to each other and which are obtained by using a concave diffraction grating. CONSTITUTION:The first diffraction grating G1 and the second diffraction grating G2 are the same, but the grating stripes of the first diffraction grating G1 are horizontal and those of the second diffraction grating G2 are vertical. These diffraction gratings G1 ann G2 rotate along the axis x1 and x2, interlocking each other. The positions of an incidence slit SI, a middle slit ST, and an emission slit SO are fixed. Wave length scan is preformed by interlockingly rotating the first grating G1 and the second grating G2.
