Abstract
PURPOSE:To automate grind, by grinding tuning forks of a tuning fork oscillator one by one while measuring an oscillation leak quantity and an oscillation frequency. CONSTITUTION:A tuning fork crystal resonator 31 is fixed by a holding jig 32 and is driven to oscillate. The output is measured by a frequency counter 34, and leak quantity is measured by an oscillation leak quantity detecting device 35. After confirming a frequency in the initial processing, a conrol device 36 checks the leak quantity and performs the next frequency adjustment process if it is proper. Otherwise, the control device 36 grinds one oscillation bar and compares an obtained leak quantity with the initial leak quantity to discriminate a left or right oscillation bar which should be ground to reduce the leak quantity. The oscillation bar is ground until a minimum leak quantity is obtained. The oscillator is moved to a prescribed position of grindstones 40 and 41 by a linear motor, which is controlled by the control device 36, and is ground.
