Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase strength of a grindstone, by providing at least two layers of glass cloth as a reinforcing material for the rotary grindstone and arranging the woven directions of its strings so as to cross at an angle of almost 45° or 135°.
CONSTITUTION: In an abrasive grain layer 2 of a grindstone main body 1, at positions almost equally divided into three parts to the direction of thickness, there are embedded two layers of alkaliless cross plain or gauze woven glass cloths 4, 5 as the reinforcement material. The glass cloths 4, 5 are arranged so as to cross with each other in such a manner that the woven direction of strings 4a, 4b in one glass cloth 4 is at an angle of 0° or 90° while the woven direction of strings 5a, 5b in the other glass cloth 5 is at an angle of almost 45° or 135°, then approximately provided with a non-directionality characteristic held by a nonwoven glass fiber, thus strength of the grindstone can be improved.
