Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the replacement of a worn-out cutting tip, by forging a metal holder holding a curting tip of hard alloy, to secure the holder on a saw blade. CONSTITUTION:Securing recesses 1b are provided at a prescribed spacing on a saw blade 1 so that the width of each recess is gradually increased inwards and wedegelike protrusions 5 are provided. Metal holders 3 are trapezoidally shap ed correspondingly to the securing recesses 1b. Grooves 6, whose cross section is shaped as V and which are fitted with the protrusions 5, are provided on the peripheral parts of the holders 3. Cutting tips 2 are secured on the holders 3 by silver solder. The holders 3 are fitted in the recesses 1b. Both the sides of each holder 3 is forged and calked so that the holder is firmly secured in the recess 1b. Metal discs 4 are mounted in the bottoms of the recesses 1b to help secure the holders 3.
