Abstract
PURPOSE:To render the post surface-trimming solution, such as hydrofluoric acid, unnecessary, and to prevent ground staining and corrosion of the metal surface of a nonimage part, by making burning processing in presence of ammonium sulfate. CONSTITUTION:A 3-30wt%, preferably, 5-20wt% ammonium sulfate solution is coated on a plate with sponge or absorbent cotton before burning, or by dipping the plate in the processing solution. The printing plate, after drying, is heated or burned with a heater or the like at 200-300 deg.C for 3-20min in presence of said ammonium sulfate on the plate surface, thus permitting ground staining to be prevented even if printing is executed with the burned plate as it is, conventional use of hydrofluoric acid to be made unnecessary, corrosion of the metal surface of the support to be avoided, and the metal surface to become resistant to scratching and abrasion.
