Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the control of the electrodeposition coating process, by washing the material to be coated, which has been subjected to cation type electrodeposition coating, with demineralized water after processing this material by a specific acid aqueous solution.
CONSTITUTION: After pH2W6 acid aqueous solution containing one or more kinds of organic acid and inorganic acid is used to process properly the material to be coated which has been subjected to electrodeposition coating, this material is washed with demineralized water and is dried rapidly. Formic acid, acetic acid, phosphoric acid, and so on are used as organic acid, and sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and so on are used as inorganic acid, and one or more kinds of them are combined properly and are used. pH3W5 is most desirable. The acid processing is performed by a proper processing method. As a result, complicated control and adjustment on electrodeposition coating can be simplified, and the outside appearance of the coated film can be improved, and resistances to chemicals and corrosion can be improved.
