Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a mechanical stopping mechanism by generating an in-focus point voltage by the video signal of an object outputted from an image sensor, and by driving an objective lens by a pulse motor by converting the said voltage and a frequency. CONSTITUTION:A video signal 3 including information on the distance between an object 1 and a camera is outputted by an image sensor 2 and then decoded by an automatic focusing detecting circuit 4 to generate a DC voltage showing the in-focus point of an objective lens which corresponds to the distance from the object. This voltage is inputted to a V-F converting circuit 6 to output clock pulses 7 of a frequency which corresponds to the in-focus point. The clock pulses are amplified by a pulse driving circuit 8 and a prescribed number of clock pulses 9, proportional to the frequency, are supplied to a pulse motor 10, thereby driving the objective lens.
