Abstract

PURPOSE: To soften the shock at the gear changing by a method wherein detecting means for the position of a shift lever switch and the suction negative pressure are employed in order to select the duration of half clutch in accordance with various conditions of gear changing operation.
CONSTITUTION: When the accelerator pedal is not operated after the gear changing, an accelerating signal (b) is at low level and a high level signal is applied from inverter 45 to a resistor 46 so that a reference voltage generating circuit 49 outputs a signal (b") to a comparator 50. On the other hand, a gear changing signal (a) turns from low level to high level in order to gradually raise the output signal (d) from a charging circuit 44. As a result, the time position, at which the both signals (b") and (d) are in equal level, is retarded and the time for the output signal (e) of the comparator 50 to turn from low level to high level becomes long. The time lag is determined by the output of pulse wave and becomes long enough to generate the duration of half clutch suitable for the conditin of gear changing operation.
