Abstract

PURPOSE:To control a contactor for weakening a field system easily by a method wherein command signals making the flowing rate of the output of a phase shifter constant after turning a bypass contactor on and are compared with a prescribed value, and the contactor for weakening the field system is opened when the command signals are larger. CONSTITUTION:When bypass contactor turn-on signals 21 are generated in a speed control circuit having the bypass contactor in parallel with a chopper circuit and the contactor for weakening the field system in parallel with a series field coil, a circuit controlling command currents i is mounted so that the flowing rate of an output waveform of the magnetic phase shifter 14 is made constant without regarding to an accelerator command. Here, the command currents i are detected by means of a resistor R3 and compared with the prescribed value because the command currents i are proportioned to the armature currents of the DC motor to be controlled. When the command currents are smaller, a transistor TR3 is ON, a field-weakening contactor coil 23 is conducted and the contactor for weakening the field system is turned on. When the currents are larger, the conduction of the coil 23 is interrupted, and the contactor for weakening the field system is opened.
