PURPOSE:To execute a constant line speed control whose operation is stable and exact, without causing complication of the constitution, by comparing and controlling the phase of a pilot signal recorded at the time of recording a signal, and that of a reference signal having a prescribed frequency. CONSTITUTION:A pilot signal having a constant frequency is recorded together with an information signal, on a spiral track of a disk recording medium 1. when a signal from the disk 1 is reproduced, said pilot signal is reproduced and extracted, its phase is compared with that of a reference signal having a constant frequency, and in accordance with its result, a rotation speed of the disk 1 is controlled so as to make the reproduced pilot signal and the reference signal constant in a phase error. For instance, a pilot signal component is extracted through a band pass filter 22 from a reproducing signal by a signal detecting part 4, is frequency-divided by a down-counter 24, and after that, its phase is compared with that of a reference signal from a reference signal generating circuit 14 by a phase comparator 13.
