Abstract
PURPOSE: To correct a time-axis variation error in a horizontal scanning period by controlling the turning speed and/or rotary phase of a rotary head during variable- speed reproduction wherein reproduction is carried out at a different magnetic tape running speed from recording.
CONSTITUTION: During standard mode reproduction, changeover switches 11 and 24 are placed at sides 11b and 24b respectively, and during variable-speed reproduction, they are plated at sides 11c and 24c. An FM signal having been recroded on a magnetic tape 1 yet is reproduced by rotary heads 3a and 3b, and a signal separated by a horizontal synchronizing signal separating circuit 21 is applied to an AFC circuit 23, whose output is amplified and then applied to a discriminator control system 12 through a limiter 26, thereby constituting a closed loop which controls the turning speed of a drum motor 4. Consequently, the drum motor 4 is controlled by a phase error voltage from the limiter 26 to correct an error in reproduced horizontal scanning frequency by the turning speed and/or rotary phase.
