Abstract
PURPOSE:To lubricate or stabilize the surface of a substrate, and to orient a liquid crystal longitudinally on the interface to the substrate, by coating and hardening a water repellent substance having an alkyl radical or a holoalkyl radical. CONSTITUTION:Silanol oligomer having an alkyl radical and (or) a haloalkyl radical, and a coating film composite containing a thickening agent are applied on the surface of a substrate, are heated at 180-450 deg.C, and are hardened. The silanol radical in the oligomer is dehydrated and condensed to produce siloxane coupling (Si-O-Si). Since this oligomer causes a condensation reaction gradually in the air, it is synthesized in an organic solvent, its solution is used at it is, or other organic solvent is added, and also it is necessary to add a thickening agent consisting of a high molecular compound such as nitrocellulose, etc. When said thickening agent is added, an applying property of oligomer is elevated, and the coating film becomes homogeneous. The coating film composite is used for an insulating film of an electric apparatus, as well.
