Abstract

PURPOSE:To couple an immune reactive material to any solid including solids having no active groups. CONSTITUTION:A reagent having at least two functional groups that can react with an amino group or hydroxyl group and chitosan are allowed to react on the surface of a solid, whereby a chitosan film is formed on the surface of said solid. Thereafter, said chitosan film and an immune reactive material are coupled, whereby an immune adsorptive body is produced. The surfaces of inorg. materials, natural high polymers, and synthetic high polymers are enumerated as the surface of solids. Formaldehyde, polyisocyanate, acid chloride, polythioisocyanate, N,N'-polymetheylene bisiodeacetamide, polyepoxy, polycarboxylic acid anhydride, divinyl compounds, epoxy halide, bismaleimide, and poly(meth) acryloyl compounds are enumerated as the reagent. The chitosan refers to beta-1,4'-polyglucosamine which is prepd. by deacetylating natural chitin.
