Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect abnormality before a fluid film ruptures and to prevent bearing accidents by detecting the pressure of a lubricant. CONSTITUTION:The journal bearing 2 which is disposed on the outside circumferential surface of a rotating shaft 1 is fixed by a bearing box. Plural pieces of pressure holes 2a-2c are opened in the suitable positions of the sliding surface of the bearing 2 which receives load in order to transimt the pressure of a lubricant fluid film 4 to the outside. The other end side is connected to a high pressure ring 6 via check valves 5a-5c which respectively prevent the backflow of the lubricant. A throttle plate 7 for discharging a slight amount of the lubricating fluid is disposed at the other end of the ring 6, and a pressure measuring element 8 which measures the pressure of the internal lubricating fluid is built in the other end side. If the internal pressure of the high pressure ring is monitored by the element 8, abnormality is detected in the stage of an early period when it occurs in the sliding bearing owing to a certain cause.
