Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the structure and to prolong the life by a method wherein an actuator is so constituted that it is operated by using shape storing metals which deform by means of ambient temperatures and the angle of rotation of the propeller is changed in proportion to the ambient temperature to change the quantity of air automatically.
CONSTITUTION: In the figure, 10 shows an actuator which expands and contracts its output end by the deformation of the shape storing metals proportional to the ambient temperature and 11 shows a plurality of shape storing metal ribs which are arranged at the circumference of the clearances between end plates 12, 13 and connect the end plates 12, 13 to each other. When the shape storing metal ribs 11 of the actuator 10 deform in proportion to the ambient temperature, the output end of the actuator 10 obtains a desired stroke, the pivot of the propeller 1 rotates at a desired angle of rotation through a cam 8 and a cam-follower 9, the pitch angle thereof changes and the quanity of the air changes automatically. Accordingly, an outward device for suppling compressed air is required and a stable performance can be maintained by a simple structure for a long period.
