Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the generation of a tar substance in the combustion wick and to obtain a stabilized cobmustion condition for a prolonged period of time by a method wherein the surface of a vaporization section of the combustion wick is covered with a heat resistant inorganic substance such as a heat resistant inorganic paint.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel (f) is sucked up from a sucking wick to a main wick 1 and vaporizes from the surface of a fuel vaporization section 3. In this case, a part of the fuel (f) transforms itself into the tar substance (t) due to the temperature and oxygen around the surface of the top end of the fuel vaporization section 3. To prevent this, the surface of the fuel vaporization section 3 is covered with the heat resistant inorganic paint 4 becuase, by so doing, the interior of the covered fuel vaporization section 3 is brought under an oxygen deficient condition and the fuel (f) is hard to become the tar substance (t) which is produced as a result of oxidation polymerization. Further, even in case where a part of the tar substance (t) is accumulated within the main wick 1, the tar substance (t) is pyrolized into a low molecular substance (t') as the temperature in the main wick 1 rises up, and is then vaporized.
