Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the position of a boat with a small error in any sea area which is covered by lorans A and C, by setting two pieces of position line information at a certain latitude and longitude obtained by the converted value of compensation of geodetic system and based on a desired geodetic system. CONSTITUTION:The outputs of receivers 1 and 2 of lorans A and C are connected to a position line selection circut 4 and converted into a latitude and longitude through a latitude/longitude converting circuit 5. In this case, a geodetic systm conversion table 6 is provided for a conversion into the Besselian coordinates. In such constitution, the longitude and latitude of the Beseelian system is obtained by the above-mentioned circuit in case when theloran A chain is selected for the Besselian system by a switch 3. In the case of the WGS system loran C chain, the value is converted into the longitude and latitude corresponding to the Besselian system in reference to the table 6. As a result, the position lines of the loran A and C chains of different coordinate systems can be used for a hybrid to obtain the position of a boat with a small error.
