Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the number of exchange parts when a disk pad is worn out by deviding a retaining plate into two plates and by fitting these two plates so that they may freely slide in an axial direction while they may not rotate in a revolving direction.
CONSTITUTION: A retaining plate 4 consists of a primary plate 9 on the side of inner periphery and a secondary plate 10 on the side of outer periphery. The plates are devided near the periphery of the retaining plate. The secondary plate 10 is fitted into the flange member 11a of the elementary plate 9 in such a manner that they may freely slide in an axial direction while they may not rotate in a revolving direction. The force of revolution at a clutch disk 1 is transmitted to the elementary plate 9 from a pad 6 through a connecting plate 5 and the secondary plate 10 and then to a clutch hub through a damper 3. When the power is intermittently supplied, the plate 10 slides to the plate 9 in an axial direction. When the pad 6 is worn out, the plate 10 is removed from the plate 9. Then the pad 6, the connecting plate 5 and the plate 10 are replaced by new ones.
