Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize the action of clutch by using a friction plate for torque transmission of a torque memeber and by releasing the action of clutch with the motion of a sphere during excessive load in the captioned unit applied for tapping machines.
CONSTITUTION: Driven clutch members 11 and 14 and a drive clutch member 7 are designed to transmit torque through a friction plate 9. When a load greater than specified is applied to the driven clutch members 11 and 14, a sphere member fitted into a concave part 21 is so designed as to move along a release groove 18 and disconnect the contact of the friction plate 9 when the sphere is disconnected from the concave part 21. Under ordinal conditions, the power is transmitted to a driven shaft 3 from the drive clutch members 7 and 20 through the friction clutch surface 9 of the driven clutch member 11. With this construction, unstable factors for clutching actions produced by work and variations can be thoroughly removed.
