Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain guide surfaces with high accurate smoothness and increase machining accuracy of a work, by forming protrusively fine stripes of saw tooth shaped section on seating surfaces of guide surface constitutional materials on a main unit base guiding the slide movement of various feed unit of a tool rest or the like. CONSTITUTION:Seating surfaces 4 of guide surface constitutional materials on a base main unit 3 of a slide base 2 are formed to L-shaped section, and ceramic guide surface constitutional materials 6A are tightened by bolts 5 to said surfaces 4. Many stripes of fine protrusions 7 of saw-tooth shaped cross section with their point ends in an acute angle are formed on the seating surfaces 4 to their longitudinal direction. In this way even if the ceramic guide surface constitutional materials 6A are tightened by the bolts 5, parallelness can be maintained by plastic deformation of the top of the protrusions 7.
