PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of a battery of a portable telephone, by giving different start signals to a land mobile radiotelephone and the portable telephone and by breaking the power source of the receiver during receiving of the call number when the call signal to the land mobile radiotelephone is received. CONSTITUTION:Different start signals are given to a land mobile radiotelephone and a portable telephone, and the output from a receiver 1 is supplied to a differentiating circuit 2 and a shift register 6 of a bit synchronizing circuit 5, and the bit rate of the call signal from the receiver 1 is applied to the register 6 as a clock of a prescribed frequency by the differentiating circuit 2. The output of prescribed bits of the register 6 is applied to coincidence detecting circuits 7 and 8 to discriminate the call number for the portable telephone of a land mobile radiotelephone or the like is received or not, and an FF9 is controlled by outputs of circuits 7 and 8 to break the power source of the receiver 1 during receiving of the call signal, thus reducing the consumption of the battery of the portable telephone.
