Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the blinding of a screen by a method in which a specific DC voltage is applied between the screen inclined in the flow direction of a non- conductive liquid and a counter electrode in such a way as to repel electrically the particles of impurities from the screen.
CONSTITUTION: A metal screen 5 is slantly provided in a filtering tank 4 with a liquid inlet 1, a filtrate oulet 2, and an impurities outlet 3 in such a way that the lower end side of the metal screen is positioned at the rear of its upper end side in relation to the flow direction of liquid. Then, an electrode 6 is provided in the face of the screen 5, and a 0.01W100kV/cm gradient of DC voltage is applied between the screen and the electrode 6 to give electrically same polar charge as that of the particles of impurities to the screen 5. By this, the particles of impurities are electrically repelled from the screen 5 for filtration.
