Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the starting current of an induction motor and to increase the starting torque of the motor by providing two sets of stator cores and a rotor core on the same shaft, and forming a squirrel cage type operating winding through the two rotor cores, thereby controlling the secondary current at the rotor side. CONSTITUTION:Two stator cores 2, 2', are mounted on the inner surface of a stator frame 1, and stator windings 3, 3' are respectively wound with the same electromagnetic relative relation. Two rotary cores 4, 4' are faced with the bore side of the stator cores 2, 2' and are secured on one rotor shaft 5. Starting coils 8, 8' are individually provided at the rotor cores 4, 4', respectively, secondary conductor 9 is provided through both the rotor cores, shortcircuit rings 10, 10' are mounted at both ends, and secondary squirrel cage type conductor is formed. In this manner, the connection is switched to shift the electromagnetic phase of the one stator at 180 deg. at the starting time, thereby suppressing the starting current.
