Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a tough heat exchanger sure in air-tightness by making the periphery of holes of a perforated end plate thin, ring-shaped, elastically deformable tongue and bringing it in close contact with the expanded part of an inserted pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The periphery of holes 31a of a perforated end plate 31 is made into a thin, ring-shaped, elastically deformable tongue 31b, and its end 31c is slightly widened to outside and upward. When a pipe 21 is inserted into the hole 31a and expanded by a pipe expander from inside of the pipe, the outer wall of the pipe is expnaded to wrap the tongue 31b, and two protruding bulges 21a, 21a' are formed. Consequently, the tongue 31b is further bent and comes into close contact elastically with the outer wall of the pipe.
