Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize necessity of teardown for parts replacement in a vaccum doubler device connected to the brake pedal of a car by such a construction that the bearing ring for the power piston boss part is fitted form the outside compulsorily, in such a manner as replaceable from the outside when it has worn because of movement of the boss part.
CONSTITUTION: In a vacuum doubler device 1 in connection to the brake pedal of a car, a gearing ring 4 is from outside fitted compulsorily on the insertion part 2 of the power piston boss 3 to maintain the airtightness under this sliding and swinging condition. At the end face of the rear shell 1, first, the insertion part 2, cylindrically projecting, is installed with its size reduced toward the foremost, where the tip is formed in a short reverse taper 25. The bearing ring 4 has increased diameter toward the back end, and the minor diameter part in the front half is inserted inside the reverse tapered part 2c while the major diameter part in the back half is so arranged that the end of boot 8 covering the boss part 3 can be fitted from the outside. Between the minor diameter part and the reverse tapered part 2c, an O- ring 10 is fitted for sealing. Thus the bearing ring 4 is replaceable from the outside and the necessity of teardown can be minimized.
