Abstract
PURPOSE: To thermally dehydrate organic solids under reduced pressure without causing the lowering of the dehydrating efficiency and recover heat effectively, by a method in which moist organic solids are heated in a non-evaporating atmosphere in a pressure container, and mixed hot water separated is exposed to reduced pressure separately from the organic solids.
CONSTITUTION: Brown coal to be dehydrated is charged in a pressure container 1a kept under atmospheric pressure, preheated, and then heated with saturated steam supplied through a pipeline 3a from an outside steam source 11. The condensed water of saturated steam generated then and water removed from the brown coal are mixed together, and the mixed hot water is stored through a drain board 8a in a hot water reservoir 2a. In the depressurizing operation, the hot water reservoir 2a is isolated from the pressure container 1a by interrupting a valve 35a, and then steam is introduced to a pressure-container (not shower) adjacent to the other pressure container, or the pressure container 1b for example, through a steam recovery pipe 10 by opening valves 30a and 34a to evaporate remaining moisture in the brown coal inside the pressure container 1a for dehydration.
