Abstract
PURPOSE:To shield heat energy from the outside while maintaining the visual range by forming >=1 reflecting film changing the thickness locally and gradually and having different reflecting spectral characteristics on the surface of each windowpane. CONSTITUTION:On the glass substrate 10 of each windowpane for a car a thin film 11 of titanium oxide or the like having a higher refractive index than the substrate 10 and a thin film 12 of silicon oxide or the like having a lower refractive indes than the film 11 are formed alternately in plural layers until a proper thickness is obtd. By making the thickness of each of the films 11, 12 smaller at the upper part and larger at the lower part, the windowpane shields visible light at the upper part and infrared rays at the lower part. Thus, both effects of reducing the load of air cooling and ensuring the visual range are produced.
