CONSTITUTION:A pluraity of disc-shaped ink rolls 7, 8, 9 are disposed in the vicinity to each other in the forward diretion of a doctor 5 in the rotating direction of a chilled roll 2, the lowermost ink roll 7 of the ink rolls 7, 8, 9 is partly immersed in ink, paint or adhesive, adhesive primer 10 in an ink reservior 6, and the ink rolls are partly approached to the chilled roll 2. Since the ink rolls 7, 9 partly coat ink 10 on the back surface of a metallic plate 13, the thickness and the profile of the back surface coating layer 24 of the ink can be accurately controlled.
