Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a tubular product in a fine shape tolerance with a simple machine, by controlling a tube spinning process so as to make a roughly computed inner diameter of a work obtained by a thickness gauge and a position detector coincide with the diameter of a mandrel.
CONSTITUTION: A turbular workpiece 12 inserted into a rotating mandrel 11 is clamped by rolls 13W15 arranged at a uniform interval, and is fed in the direction of a blanked arrow mark; hereby, the work 12 receives a forming process. Three position detectors 18, arranged at a uniform interval around a mandrel 11 installed at the center of three rolls 13W15. detect a maximum bulging point 17 of the outer surface of the work 12. The positions of this point 17 are expressed as the coordinates in respect of the aixal center of the mandrel 11 so that the diameter of an imaginary inscribed circle 20 is obtained. meanwhile, the wall thickness of the work 12 just after finishing the forming process of the final forming roll 15 is detected by a thickness gauge 19. Then, the twice of the wall thickness is reduced from the diameter of the circle 20; the movement of the rolls 13W15 for every one turn of the mandrel 11 is controlled by a control system so as to make the residue of said reducing operation coincide with the diameter of the mandrel 11.
