Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove organic solvent effectively by separating steam distilled with organic solvent vapor composed essentially of halogenated hydrocarbon by condensation, and recovering organic solvent contained in the effluent composed of condensed water by reverse osmotic method.
CONSTITUTION: After collecting organic solvent vapor composed mainly of halogenated hydrocarbon from atomosphere by adsorption using an adsorbent such as active carbon, the solvent is desorbed from the adsorbent by using heated steam. At this time, steam distilled along with the solvent vapor is condensed and separated, and the organic solvent dissoled in the effluent composed of condensed water is recovered by reverse osmosis system to clean the effluent. Cellulose, epoxy resin, glass fiber, etc. are used for membrane material for reverse osmosis, and as the shape of module that fits the semipermeable membrane, there are the cyindrical type, spiral type, hollow fiber type etc.
