Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-accuracy digital signal, by recording and reproducing an analog signal after a sampling and an A/D conversion to give again an A/D conversion to the difference to the above-mentioned sampled signal after a D/A conversion for recording and repeating these actions. CONSTITUTION:An analog signal given from an input terminal 101 is supplied to a sample holding (SH) circuit 102 to be held for a certain period. This signal is changed into an m-bit digital signal through the 1st A/D converter 103 and recorded on a magnetic tape 110 travelling toward an arrow mark by the 1st recording head 104. The recorded digital signal is reproduced by a reproducing head 106 and changed into an analog signal through a D/A converter 105 to be supplied to a differential circuit 109 along with the output of the circuit 102. Thus a differential signal is obtained. This differential signal is changed again into an n-bit digital signal through an A/D converter to be recorded on the tape 110 by the 2nd recording head 108. Accordingly the (m+n)-bit recording is performed as a result of an addition of the first and second recording actions. As a result, a high-accuracy signal is obtained by a converter of a small number of bits.
