Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the access time, by forming plural tracks corresponding to each bit of the parallel data on a magnetic disk and providing a recording/reproduction head corresponding to each track to ensure the simultaneous recording and reproducing. CONSTITUTION:Tracks 31-3n are formed on a magnetic disk 1 to correspond to each bit of the parallel data, and recording/reproduction heads 21-2n are provided in correspondence to each track. Then the parallel data are distributed with each bit to the tracks 31-3n to perform the simultaneous recording and reproducing. For each track, 41-4n and 51-5n indicate the address parts and the data parts in a sector, and l1' and ld' show the lengths of both parts. In such way, both the parallel-series conversion and the series-parallel conversion can be eliminated to reduce the time required for process down to 1/n compared with the conventional series system.
