Abstract

PURPOSE: To establish an easier forming method without the use of pattern paper in forming a hollow cylinder with several flexible sheets bound together, and prevent function troubles, by using as a joining member a flexible sheet tape with V-shape cross section, made of the same vulcanized rubdber cloth as used for the body.
CONSTITUTION: The upper and lower air chamber panels 1, 2 are provided with binding margins 1b, 2b to accomplish joint 3. Between supersosed binding margins 1b, 2b, thermal adhesive sheets 8 are inserted. Tapes 4, 4 have V-shaped cross section and are made of the same valcanized rubber cloth as used for the upper and lower air chamber panels 1, 2. Thermal adhesive sheets 10 of unvulcanized rubber are inserted between the tapes 4, 4 and the flexible sheets constituting the upper and lower air chamber panels 1, 2. The setup, thus prepared, is then press-heated under a press.
