Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform a concrete-to-concrete bonding work wholly under water, by the procedure in which a projected portion at the portion to be bonded of a concrete structure is fitted into a groove filled with an ashesive at the portion to be bonded of a concrete structure so as to press on each other.
CONSTITUTION: The annularly projected portion 2 of the cylindrical concrete structure 1 is fitted into the annular groove 5 of the cylindrical concrete structure 4 immersed under water so as to press the portion 3 to be bonded of the structure 1 on the portion 6 to be bonded of the structure 4 by means of the weight of the structure 1, where when the annularly projected portion 2 is pressed into the adhesive-impregnated material 7 filled in the annular groove 5, air from the voides of the material 7 is expelled in the form of bubbles into water, the adhesive present in the material 7 is squeezed out to expel water between the portions 3 and 6 to be bonded, and the adhesive spreads throughout both the portions to be bonded as compression proceeds. Thus, the portions 3 and 6 to be bonded are jointed closely with each other through a thin film of the adhesive.
