Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable fuel to be supplied stably to each cylinder by injecting fuel at every specific crank angle and setting injection start period within the range of a specific angle prior to the upper dead point of each cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: A control circuit sets injection start period in the range of 20W 120° prior to the upper dead point of each cylinder of an engine on the basis of reference position signal at every 180° from a crank angle sensor to permit 4 times of injection for 2 rotations of a crankshaft. Then, in injection timing represented by arrow an intake valve of cylinder #2 has been closed with reference to the upper dead point of cylinder #3, and it is found that cylinder #1 is in the middle of open valve period whereas the valve of cylinder #3 is not yet opened. Thus, almost all of injected fuel can be supplied to the cylinder #1 carrying out strong intake action by setting injection start period in the range of 20W120° prior to the upper dead point of the cylinder #3.
