Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce electromagnetic energy for maintaining a starting lever in contact with the magnetic core of an electromagnetic clutch, by bringing the starting lever into contact with the magnetic core to form a closed magnetic loop.
CONSTITUTION: When a motor 44 is started and a clutch is engaged by an operating button 50 to move a driven part 52 back and forth by the motive power of the motor 44, a coil 42 is energized by a control circuit 48 to rotate the motor 44. As a result, a cam 12 is rotated to drive a cam follower 14 in the direction of an arrow 22. Since an output rack 16 remains energized by a spring 34, the displacement of a differential rod 18 in the direction of the arrow 22 following the cam follower 14 is restricted by the tip 28a of a starting lever 28 attracted on a magnetic core 40. For that reason, the motion of the cam follower 14 is transmitted to the output rack 16 through a rack 14c and a pinion 26 to displace the output rack 16 in the direction of an arrow 20.
