Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture amorphous alloy having a small temperature coefficient of modulus of elasticity over a wide temperature range by performing the predetermined heat treatment to the alloy composing by ferrous group elements and Zr as fundamental components and besides containing at least one kind of Ni, Co and a specified element.
CONSTITUTION: Amorphous alloy is manufactured by melting and quenching at a superhigh rate of 104W106°C/sec the ferrous alloy which contains 8W14atomic% of Zr, or further at least one kind of Ni, Co less than 40atomic%, and furthermore specified non-melting, metallic elements as auxiliary components, if required. Heat treatment is done by holding said alloy for 1minW500hr at 100°C to the temperature below the crystallization temperature of the alloy. Amorphous alloy having elinver characteristic of an extremely small temperature coefficient of modulus of elasticity -15×10-5W+25×10-5 over an extremely wide temperature range.
