Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable electric tuning, by locating a subresonator with a varactor diode nea a dielectric resonator. CONSTITUTION:A subresonator 10 of microstrip line is located in parallel with a gate electrode transmission line 5 to constitute a positive feedback circuit by a dielectric resonator 7. To change the reactive component of a subresonator 10 electrically, a varactor diode 11 is loaded at one end of the subresonator 10, and another end of the varactor diode 11 is short-circuited with a 1/4 wavelength microstrip line. Further, the line length l1 of the subresonator 10 is set to about 1/2 wavelength to obtain strong coupling with the dielectric resonator 7. Since a BPF consisting of the dielectric resonator 7 acts like a positive feedback circuit from a drain electrode D to a gate electrode G, this oscillator oscillates almost at the resonance frequency of the dielectric resonator 7. Electric tuning is possible by changing the bias voltage of the varactor diode 11.
