Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of the introduction of optical energy by circularly arranging a bundle of many core parts of photoconductors having circular sections and providing core parts of photoconductors having a smaller diameter in gaps among the core parts. CONSTITUTION:Seven circularly-sectioned photoconductor cores 1 are bundled in a hexagonal shape 101 to constitute a cable end part. In gaps formed among the cores 1, 1..., photoconductor cores 2, 2...3, 3..., etc., having smaller diameters than those of the core 1 are arranged. For example, the diameter of each core 1 is 1mm., the diameters of cores 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 are 0.352, 0.17. 0.156, 0.102, 0.062, and 0.062mm.. Consequently, although the efficiency of the optical energy introduction when only the cores 1 are arranged is 78% at a maximum, that of this structure having the cores 1-7 is 95.4%.
