Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition having excellent adhesivity and printability to a plastic film, by radically polymerizing a mixture of a specific monomer and a specific ratio of other vinyl monomer in the presence of a polyamide resin, neutralizing the polymerization product, and dispersing in water.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is prepared by (1) radically polymerizing (A) 20W80pts.wt. of a mixture of (a) 5W90wt% of a monomer of formula (R1 and R2 are H, alkyl, aryl, etc.; or R1 and R2 together with a nitrogen atom form a heterocyclic ring; R3 is H or methyl; n is 1W4), (e.g. dimethylaminoethylacrylate) or its acid salt and (b) other vinyl monomers (e.g. styrene) in the presence of (B) 80W20pts.wt. of a polyamide resin (pref. the molecular weight is 2,000W10,000), soluble in alcohol or a mixture of alcohol and hydrocarbons (2) neutralizing the resulted polymer wit an acidic substance, and (3) dispersing or dissolving the product in water.
USE: Vehicle for printing ink, etc.
