Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a temperature sensor device of simple structure which eliminates the necessity of an additional circuit which has threshold characteristics, by a method wherein temperature is detected using a medium with transmittance varying rapidly depending on a specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:A medium 4 which is transparent at a temperature higher than the specific temperature and not transparent at a temperature lower than the specific temperature, is filled in a light path 6 made of material of good thermal conductivity. Light is projected from a light emitting iode 1 into the light path 6, and it passes through the medium 4 thereby luminous flux A is received by a photo-transistor 5. Current flowing in the photo-transistor 5 varies sigificantly at the specific temperature of the medium 4, thereby temperture can be detected by the current.
