Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the noise generated by E-type interpoles, by a method wherein contact surfaces between center, left and right legs and coupling members of a DC machine with interpoles are so composed that non-contact region may not exist in said configuration. CONSTITUTION:A coupling member which consists of non-magnetic material of relatively low hardness and having yield point such as 18-8 stainless steel processed by solid solution process in the vacuum, and another coupling member with a cross section such as a-f, that is, a parallelogram, an irregular polygon, an oval, a cylindrical shape being cut along the surface parallel to its axis with corrugated outer-surface, or other shapes of non-rectangular cross-section are prepared. The two coupling members are compressed into spaces between center legs 14, 15 and left and right legs 16, 16' 17, 17' so that non-contact region may not exist at the contact surfaces with the coupling members which couple those legs. With the above method, the generation of noise is reduced effectively.
