Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve riding performance by providing the rubber with improved riding comfortableness to a cap tread, also providing the rubber with advanced mileage and durability to a base tread of a tire.
CONSTITUTION: A tread section of a steel belt radial tire for a passenger automobile is constructed of two layers, a cap tread section A and a base tread section B. An interface II of these two layers is located at rather a breaker (belt) 3 side than a wear indicator I and within an outer thrid of sectional thickness of a substread section. Further, to improve the riding comfortableness, the cap tread is made of the soft rubber with 42°W57° JIS hardness and tanδ=0.150 or more; and to advance the mileage and durability performance, the base tread is made of the rubber with 50°W60° JIS hardness and tanδ=0.150 or less.
