Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the captioned moldings free from excessive fluidity of resin and excellent in energy efficiency by a method wherein an FRP laminate composed of reinforcing fibers and matrix resin is heated under pressure by hot steam and hardened as it is coated with filmlike material.
CONSTITUTION: To take an example, reinforcing fibers composed of carbon fibers arranged in one direction are impregnated with epoxy resin to obtain a semi-hardened prepreg sheet. An FRP laminate 10 obtained by laminating said prepreg sheets is placed on an aluminum plate 12 and then inserted in a pressure furnace 7 with the top and side coated with polytetrafluoroethylene. A vacuum sealant 6 is provided, air is exhausted sufficiently through a suction hole 11, then, pressurized steam of 0.9kg/cm2G is loaded from a supply hole 8 for 30min, further, pressurized steam of 8kg/cm2G is loaded for 1hr to mold a carbon fiber reinforcing epoxy plate.
EFFECT: Homogenous moldings are obtained without distortion, bendings, indentations, etc.
USE: Weight-reducing members for airplanes, vehicles, etc.
