Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the temp. of waste gas lower than that of an induced draft fan, suppress the loss of the sensible heat of the waste gas, eventually lower the original unit of the quantity of heat of a calcining furnace and make the stable continuous operation of the device possible by improving the heat transfer efficiency of the calcining furnace. CONSTITUTION:A calcining furnace 3 is formed of a horizontal cylindrical shape wherein the flames by the combustion of fuel are formed in the axial direction roughly to the overall length of the furnace by a burner 5 at the center of the left end. The raw material discharged from a preheater 2 rides on the gaseous flow of a kiln waste gas supply pipe 7 via a raw mterial supply pipe 9, and flows into the furnace 3 in a tangential direction from the cylindrical side wall of the furnace 3. En route of going toward the other end while being swirled in the inside, it receives the radiation transfer heat of the flames of the burner 5, and the convectional transfer heat from kiln waste gas or the high temp. air such as cooler waste gas introduced through a secondary air supply pipe. Also it receives the agitation effect by the projections 10 of the inside wall of the furnace, whereby it is calcined with good efficiency. The calcined raw material is fed together with the waste gas via a conduit 8 to a separating cyclone 1, where it is separated from the waste gas and is calcined in a kiln 6.
