PURPOSE:To hold a feeder head part at high temps. by the heat evolved by a high temp. holding body and reduce the amt. of feeding by disposing the high temp. holding body made by mixing powdery exothermic materials and packing the same in a case into the feeder part in such a way as to contact with the molten metal therein. CONSTITUTION:A case 5 is formed into a torus shape of a flat shape having width with its inside and outside circumferential surfaces in parallel with an axial line, which the inside circumferential surface is formed in conformity with the outside circumference of a feeder head, having an opened top surface and a closed bottom surface. Next, powdery exothermic materials 6 in a mixed state are packed therein and a heat insulation material 7 is placed on top, thence the case is tightly closed with a torus-shaped cap member 8, whereby a high temp. holding body 4 is formed. Thence, such body 4 is disposed on the circumference of a feeder head 3, and molten metal is teemed into a sprue 2 and the feeder head 3, whereby casting is carried out. Then, the inside circumferential surface of the case 5 and the molten metal in the feeder head 3 contact with each other and the materials 6 burn to evolve heat, thereby holding the molten metal at high temps. for a long time and preventing the same from solidifying.
