Abstract
PURPOSE: To expedite the conversion of an organic waste matter into lower molecular substances and to improve the solid-liquid separability of digested sludge, by treating the organic waste matter at a digestion temperature of 45W65°C in a step of conversion into lower molecules, and then anaerobically digesting it at a mesophilic digestion temperature of 20W40°C.
CONSTITUTION: An organic waste matter 6 flows into a reactor for converion into lower molecules 1 of a tank type or the like, at a temperature in the range of 45W 65°C. Outflow slurry 7 is separated into an effluent 8 and cake 9 with a solid-liquid separator 4. The effluent 8 flows into a main digestion reactor 2 of a tank type or the like, kept at 20W40°C. Digested sludge 10 from the reactor 2, which may be disposed as such, is treated and separated into an effluent 11 and precipitate 12 by a solid-liquid separator 5. The effluent 11 is independently treated, while the precipitate 12 is disposed by incineration or the like. If desired, part of the precipitate 12 may be returned to the main digestion reactor 2.
