CONSTITUTION:When a channel 25 and a channel connecting part 24 have detected a machine check, firmware is started by channel indexing. Also, when a channel data part 22 and an interface 29 have detected a machine check, firmware is started by data error indexing and interface check indexing in the same way. When said firmware is started, the internal state information relating to detected checks of a chennel control part 21, a channel data part 22, the channel connecting part 24 and the channel 25 is selectively collected by firmware, is shunted in a specific area of an internal memory in the channel control part 21, and the collected information is transferred to the maintenance diagnostic device.
